.....in SCMP today:"With each passing day, my hopes for a reversal of the new China visa policy are dashed. For weeks now, I've tried rationalising why the central government implemented this policy, which is totally restrictive and regressive.........The new rules have seriously crippled my business, which requires me to travel frequently to the mainland, assisting local developers in building hotels and resorts throughout China.........However, we need the Hong Kong government to really weigh in and urgently discuss how business can be conducted as usual for people like myself..............Our business cannot afford to wait until October in the hope of a return to normalcy."
This is just a part of the letter - in another part the writer is having similar thoughts I mentioned already:
How can the government really consider that people with that many entries to the mainland are a "security risk" for the Olympics ? If we would have done something "wrong" during our so many entries - we would already been blacklisted or whatever. The "security risk" most probably will come from single entry applicants with NO CHINA VISA history.
And still "no word and no message" from our HK SAR Government !
Wait ! Here is the real solution - which makes the whole story even more absurd: AliBaba promoting a company "organizing" Visa letters for F visa applications - this is in my opinion the exactly wrong way to tackle this problem - any volunteers to try this way ? But maybe you should try the "food arrangement" offered by this "company".......................

This whole thing stinks. It is like China wants to kick all the foreigners out of the country so there is a "gweilo-free" Olympics. This is when the communists stand up, beat their chests and show the world how they have accomplished so much without anyone's help and again remind us they invented spaghetti and will soon start making jumbo jets. Great.
This whole thing stinks comment......first I did not wanted to publish this comment, because I found it somewhat a little bit too aggressive and offending - dont worry I have received MUCH MORE AGGRESSIVE COMMENTS - which I simply rejected to publish. I do not want to publish comments sounding "respectless" and somewhat "china unfriendly" ! But there is some kind of "truth" in this comment (even if it is an angry one): China received a lot of help & contribution the last 20 years from outside - even if this is only meaning HK or even Japan. It was all build on lets say a "win-win situation" and on a mutual base of understanding and respecting each others cultures, different business mentalities + simply trying to find common places to get the business done and make it successful. I remember the first months when I started in China (1999) how difficult it was to achieve some standards in the factories - standards which were completely normal for us foreigners (I have mainly been working with Italy factories the last 15 years before I came to China in 1999). It was a shock for me + also a shok for some of the suppliers to be confronted with suddenly more complicate + premium quality requirements. Many could not follow - also myself had to compromise very often - I also learned some special skills of "improvising" in difficult and almost 'unsolvable" situations. But in the end there is a bunch of suppliers who now understand much better this kind of requirements and how important it is to really follow a premium quality standard. We will stick with them as long as we can get the job done and as long as they are willing to really learn that there is "another side" and that the real business only starts when their goods arrive at the other side of the world ! Cheers and lets hope that this VISA NIGHTMARE very very soon will come to an end !!!!!!!
