CHINA VISA NEWS

Applying a China Visa in Hong Kong at "China Travel Service" (CTS) will maximum give you a 2 entry visa if you are not holding a Hong Kong ID-card. This is the status right now.
Multiple entry is not available for the moment. In any case you need to apply and still can do this in your home country better do it there - then the chance to get a "multiple entry" is maybe better.

F visa for 2 entries max should be still possible if apply in HK and even with no HK ID card. Try at the China Travel Service - if it is not working there come back to me and I can name you a travel agency who can maybe help.

Big Celebration?

Right. 60 years of Communism. An arbitraty date pegged as an excuse to clamp down on foreigners.

Ok, I've got a Mult Business Visa until March of 2009. Then I have to go back to Canada, and then get a single entry F Visa in HK. Come into China, then extend it for 6 Month Mulit F Visa in Shanghai.

That's what the agency told me.

Very informative post!
I'm planning a trip to China and wondered if anyone knows how long it takes to receive a China Visa when I apply locally at the US Chinese embassy?

Hi Australia,
normally it should not take longer than 1 week.
