any news if there are problems at the moment when applying for a chinese tourist visa when writing on the visa form that I want to enter China in Xinjiang (from Kyrgystan)? I will apply at the Chinese embassy in Berlin.
Any other choice to enter would maybe a moore safe option to get the visa. Try & you will find out - please let m eknow the result. Maybe try to go via Harbin - even if far from Xinjiang - but at least more easy to reach via the Russia route.......

We got our Visa without any problems. We said we travel to kashgar, Turpan, Dunhuang, Shanghai. No questions or delays.
