WORDS

by Hon Mr. Donald Tsang at the torch relay ceremony today - but this words were not meant for us "desperate china visa applicants" (also not for the thousands of "HK perm ID card holders with foreign passports" who contributed on both sides of the border a lot the last 20 years).
Thank you and have a good sleep:
quote
"As a cosmopolitan city of China, Hong Kong is uniquely placed to play this bridging role between the peoples of the world, and the people of our country. In Hong Kong, we are a world in a city, where different people, with different beliefs, and different views have thrived in the spirit of diversity, tolerance and respect. This same spirit feeds the Olympic flame, and makes it burn brightly.
As the Olympic torch is relayed through Hong Kong - and as it travels across the vast expanse of our country in the months ahead- I truly hope that it will continue to blaze a trail of unity and peace, for all people, of all nations. The goal of 'One World. One Dream' is there for us to achieve."

Nothing will be achieved if we are still "blocked" out - hope this nightmare is over soon.

Sweet words - but the bitter truth is different - its a shame and not a very good reception to the so called " foreigners welcome to china". The iced faces of all the NPC guys and the instant denial that "nothing has changed in visa policies" - is this 1978 ? Is this 2008 or are we in 2047 already .....Its a shame and it is POOR............

Yes, the Olympic torch is the embodiment of harmony....not.

Umm, is this site blocked by the Great Firewall now? - I can only get access though a proxy server.

Hi Karibdis,
in generally "blogspots" are mostly blocked - and most probably this blog is not very popular in some offices...and why the young and "new patriots" should learn how foreigners are treated by their country - especially the few hundreds of thousand studying comfortable mostly in Europe + USA - they all should be send home to celebrate the Olympics more close and in happy togetherness with their comrades.

Yeh I understand why they might want to block it. Had no problems til yesterday...

I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for starting this blog - it has been my most useful source of info.

It is this fact - that it is pretty much the best source of info, and it is being blocked by those who refuse to publicise their own info themselves - that makes it especially annoying.

Keep up the good work!

I can only say that "one world" is really only "one dream". When will China wake up and learn that they are the only ones who believe their flimsy attempt at fancy words. WAKE UP!! End the nightmare for all of us!
