Couldn't agree more for us long term Hong Kong permanent residents- we suffer clear discrimination on this issue due our lack Chinese blood and no one in the HK govt will help us(though i think one of the Tiens did write a SCMP sympathetic article)
wouldn't there be a huge noise if our fellow Chinese blood Hongkongers were similarly inconvenience going to China with their home return permits
Pity China has lost a lot of goodwill from its Gwailo friends in HK who suffer financial and time wastage to keep a few nutty Falun Gong out
Yes - even more absurd in case you a married with a HK and have HK born children: Mum + kids go through the home-return channel + daddy has to queue up at the "foreigners" counter !
